Complete and Utter Mayhem

Long live the RECKLESS and the BRAVE

10 Day Avengers Challenge: Day 5

Day 5: Which Avenger do you find the most adorable?

It’s a three-way tie between Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, and Bruce Banner. And the adorableness increases when you put them together.

10 Day Avengers Challenge: Day 4

Day 4: Which Avenger do you relate to the most? Why?

I don’t know which one I would relate to. I mean, I guess if I HAD to choose, I would choose Bruce Banner because he is calm and a great friend until you get him angry. And I don’t get really angry often but when I do it’s not good…lol.

Best Avengers Scene 8/10

  • Bruce Banner: It's his M.O., isn't it? I mean, what are we, a team? No, no, no. We're a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We're...we're a time-bomb.
  • Nick Fury: You need to step away.
  • Tony Stark: Why shouldn't they guy let off a little steam?
  • Steve Rogers: You know damn well why! Back off!
  • Tony Stark: Oh, I'm starting to want you to make me.
  • Steve Rogers: Yeah, big man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?
  • Tony Stark: Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.
  • Tony Stark: Hey, I just met you.
  • Tony Stark: And this is crazy.
  • Tony Stark: But your work is unparalleled and I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.
  • Tony Stark: So come hang out at my lab, maybe.

“PERHAPS IT’S RUFFALO’S SLIGHT MUMBLE OR THE WAY HE SPEAKS AS IF HE’S ALWAYS ON THE VERGE OF A WRY SMILE, BUT ONE CAN’T HELP BUT SENSE THAT HIS BANNER FINDS SOMETHING FUNNY ABOUT ALL OF THIS. IT’S AS IF HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO IS KEENLY AWARE OF A CRUEL JOKE BEING PLAYED ON THE WORLD.”

I really enjoyed reading this. It really touches on what makes this Bruce/Hulk so much more engaging than the previous iterations of the character.

Mark Ruffalo, as Dr. Bruce Banner a.k.a. the Hulk, is both the sentimental and sociological heart of the movie. The power of his performance is in the poignant self-awareness that he brings to Banner, whom he plays as a troubled intellectual, a nerd with out-of-control emotional issues that both embarrass and frighten him. It’s as if he embodies a latent violence in American society, a rage of boundless power that sometimes turns bloody at home but which, when roused by righteous indignation, is an irresistible scourge to enemies. - The New Yorker review on Mark Ruffalo’s performance in The Avengers (via miurt)

“IT’S SAFE TO SAY THAT WITH HIS PERFORMANCE IN JOSS WHEDON’S “THE AVENGERS” SOME OF THOSE MUCH NEEDED QUALITIES HAVE RETURNED. HE DOESN’T QUITE HAVE BIXBY’S PATERNAL ELEMENT, BUT HE DOES HAVE THAT SAME INHERENT KINDNESS. HE ISN’T MOPING OR OBSESSED WITH HIS OWN PROBLEMS, HE’S GENTLE AND DIGNIFIED. THERE’S SOMETHING SO UNASSUMING AND EVEN CUTE ABOUT HIM. WHEN WE FIRST MEET DR. BANNER IN INDIA, HE’S DOING MEDICAL WORK FOR THE POOR IN “THE MOST STRESSFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD.” BUT THAT DOESN’T SEEM TO BE AN ISSUE FOR HIM. SOME YEARS HAVE PASSED AND SOMEHOW HE SEEMS IN FULL CONTROL. BUT HE ALSO SEEMS IMPOSSIBLY WEARY AND HAGGARD. HE’S A MAN WHO HAS LIVED AND LOST MORE THAN IMAGINABLE.”
